Visible Range

You should define the Highest UPP in the Ruler. You should not, however, continue the Project ruler to higher and higher UPPs (i.e. lower resolutions) since the highest UPP, and thus the number of levels in the Project Ruler have memory implications for the TerraExplorer application you use to render the image files.

§  The more levels in the Project Ruler, the larger the amount of RAM required to run the TerraExplorer application. This consideration is only relevant for viewing the MPT file on a computer with 32 MB or less of RAM.

§  The smaller the number of levels in the Project Ruler, the smaller the Visible Range (i.e. the closer the horizon).

You can define the Highest UPP for the project using the Range slider in the Project Ruler dialog box. SeeSetting the Project Ruler” in the “Project Management” chapter.

If you are not sure what values to use, TerraBuilder sets the initial Range values for you. The highest resolution source file defines the minimum UPP value in the ruler. You cannot enter a UPP smaller than this value. TerraBuilder displays the minimum UPP at the left side of the Range slider.
